Whiskey of the People
For generations, Tennessee was known to have the best whiskey in the US, but unlike most of America, Chattanooga never re-legalized booze following prohibition. However, thanks to a few inspired souls(with the help of the town), Chattanooga has regained its footing in the Whiskey game.
Founded as the Chattanooga Whiskey Distillery, the ownership group worked to bring whiskey production back to their town by challenging old laws and offering a platform for people to have a say.
Ironically, before they produced even their first drop of Tennessee alcohol, the company created a social media craze by asking the people if they would drink Chattanooga Whiskey. The overwhelming response of HELL YES...pushed the company to petition for laws to be changed and eventually allowing them to open their distillery on the river front in Chattanooga.
In November of 2015 the Chattanooga Whiskey company released the first whiskey produced in Chattanooga in over 100 years! And since then, they have not looked back, crafting new blends, including experimenting with “Tennessee High Malt” which brings entirely new flavors to the pallette.
Check them out for a piece of history and great whiskey.
