Yellowstone is our favorite show on television right now, mainly because it allows us to live vicariously through the cowboys roaming across our screen. Given the authentic nature of this television series, one must wonder: was horse-riding a required skill for casting?

Turns out that much of the actors and actresses were hired with novice cowboy skills at best, aside from one man who lives the Western life on and off the screen. Lucky for us, Jake Ream helped his fellow cast members to bulk up their resumes by sharing his knowledge.

Watch Jake Ream talk about taking some of the actors on a 4-day horseback trip to teach them about what it means to be a cowboy and living the cowboy ways. The commitment to authenticity is just one more reason that we are obsessed with all things Yellowstone.
